Heavenly Healthy Apple Pie

heavenly healthy apple pie
We love this lighter version of our traditional Apple Pie.  Loaded with apples, sweetened with honey and lots of fall flavor. You will have trouble not eating the whole thing!
 
A Heavenly Healthy Apple Pie
 
– 6-8 organic apples, Wacky Apple, Honeycrisp or a mix of varieties 
– 2 TBLS lemon juice 
– 1/4 cups flour 
– 1 tsp cinnamon 
– 1/4 tsp nutmeg
– 1/8 tsp ground ginger
– 1/2 cup brown sugar 
– 1 TBLS coconut sugar 
– 2 TBLS butter 
– 1 4oz cup cinnamon Wacky Apple applesauce
 

Topping
– 2 cups granola  (We like Love Grown Sweet Cranberry Pecan Oat Clusters)
– 2 TBLS butter 
– 2 TBLS honey

 
 Directions:
Combine the first 10 ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well. Add the mixture into a greased pie pan.  Next, add in the topping ingredients in another bowl and use a spoon or your hands to combine.  Use your hands or a spoon to top the pie mixture with the topping.  Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.  Enjoy!
