Apple Chips

Dried Apples

We love making these apple chips when we have an abundance of apples. They are so addicting and obviously so much better for you than regular chips. Kids LOVE them and they make a perfect school snack.

These couldn’t be easier to make.  All you need is about 3-4 apples or more if you have a few cookie sheets you are using.   Preheat your oven to 200 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and make clean up easy.  If you have a mandolin slicer use it create thin and perfect slices. If not grab your sharpest knife, turn the apples on its side and slice as thin as you can. Some slices won’t be perfect and that is totally ok! Spread them into a layer on the baking sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake for roughly 2.5 hours.  Flipping once half way through.  If they aren’t as crunchy as you would like them, bake for longer.  Once the apples are cooked to your desired crunchiness, turn off the oven and let the apples sit for another 30 minutes while the oven and the apples cool down.  Another step to ensure perfect crispness.  These apple chips wont last long so we definitely recommend making a few batches!
