Up-cycle Your Wacky Apple Containers into Fun Kids Crafts

Homemade Pom Poms:Sarah broncos Pom poms

Try making pom-poms by having an adult cut a hole in the bottom of the cup.  Then measure out strips of ribbon, about 12 inches long, fold them in half and poke them threw the hole.  Use a twist tie and tie all of the ribbon together inside the cup.  This will keep the strips of ribbon from coming out.

Noisemakers:Up cycle noisemakers

To make a noisemaker, fill an applesauce or juice cup with beads (I prefer orange and blue for the Denver Bronco’s :)), dried beans or pebbles. With adult supervision, use a hot glue gun to glue the lid back on the container. Decorate it with markers, stickers, glitter or whatever your imagination desires.  When you are finished shake away and cheer on your favorite team. Go Bronco’s!

Use your empty applesauce containers to start your garden seeds indoors in the Spring.Start by getting an adult to poke a small hole in the bottom of the container for water drainage. Then fill the cup 3/4 full with organic soil. Dig a small hole in the center of the soil and place your seed. Cover up the seed with the soil and sprinkle a little water over the top. Place the container near a window where it can get plenty of sunshine. Once it is warm enough, transfer your sprouted seeds to your outdoor garden or a larger outdoor pot.
