Sautéed Apples

Sautéed apples

Sautéed apples can spice up a plain old breakfast or dessert.  Try them on top of pancakes, waffles, or French toast. You could also mix them into oatmeal (like our refrigerator oatmeal) or plain or vanilla flavored greek yogurt and of course on top of a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream is always a nice treat too.

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 medium sized apples, sliced about 1/4 inch thick (any variety of apple can be used
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of local, raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • dash of nutmeg

Heat a nonstick skillet on medium to high heat.  Heat the butter until melted.  Add in the rest of your ingredients and stir to combine.  Saute over medium heat about 10 minutes or until apples soften up but don’t get too mushy.  Use on top of greek yogurt, oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, French toast, or ice cream.  Enjoy!
