3 Smoothies to Make Your New Year Healthier

Smoothies.

In our opinion, smoothies are one of the best meals you can incoporate into your daily diet. The possibilities for flavors are endless but the way to make them are fairly consistent. You will need a liquid, and some fruit, fresh or frozen, and we also love adding veggies and greens. Thats the basics. You can sup up your smoothie by adding in protein sources from powders, nuts, and seeds. You can also add in superfoods, herbs, spices, probiotics, and so much more. The possibilities are truly endless.

Whether or not you already incorporate smoothies into your diet, smoothies can serve as a quick and healthy meal that packs a lot of nutrition into one glass. They are perfect for families or individuals who are always on the go. 

If one of your New Years Resolutions involves getting healthy, you may want to consider adding some serious nutrition into your daily routine with smoothies. Let us share with you three of our favorite smoothies that pack loads of nutrition to keep us healthy during these winter, cold and flu months and every other month of the year too. 

Wild Berry and Yogurt Smoothie is loaded with antioxidant rich berries, apples, yogurt and coconut water to replenish electrolytes naturally. This is the perfect drink for boosting immunity and during times of sickness to help fight colds and flu. This makes for a perfect breakfast or snack.

Wild Berry and Yogurt Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 packet Sambazon
1 4 oz container So Delicious Rasberry Yogurt
1 4oz cup Wacky Apple wild berry sauce
1 cup Coconut water

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

The Green Apple Kale and Ginger Smoothie is a detoxifying smoothie that will load your body up with nutrient dense greens and boost your immunity with fresh ginger. This smoothie combines our fresh Fuji apples as well as our Wacky Apple Apple juice.

Green Apple Kale & Ginger

Ingredients:

1/2 cup frozen spinach
1/2 cup frozen kale
1 oz Vega greens
1/3 inch piece of fresh ginger root
1 Wacky Apple Fuji, Braeburn, Jonagold, or Honeycrisp apple (seeded and quartered)
1 6oz cup of Wacky Apple apple juice
Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Lastly, our Chocolate Yogurt Protein Smoothie packs a nutritious and satisfying punch that tastes like dessert.  Enjoy it in the morning to keep you full until lunch or after as an afterworkout drink to help replenish electrolytes and ease muscle soreness.

Chocolate Yogurt Protein Smoothie

Ingredients:

1.5 oz container of So Delicious vanilla yogurt
1 teaspoon Divine cocoa powder
1 oz Vega All-In-One Nutritional Shake Chocolate
1 cup Good Belly Coconut Water with probiotics
1 4 oz cup Wacky Apple Cinnamon Applesauce
1/2 of a frozen bananas
Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
